Special Education Safety Summit, April 19, 2017

No fee for Special Education Directors and Assistant Directors within Region 11. Funding is provided by Region 11 Low Incidence Project.

Who should attend: District Special Education Directors, Assistant Directors, and others interested in Special Education staff safety.

What are you experiencing in your schools with staff safety and Special Education? Do you know what OSHA is spotlighting, or about potential legal ramifications? Do you know the best practices for keeping your staff safe? This Special Education Safety Summit is an opportunity to learn from a panel of experts in regulations/acompliance, legal implications, and worker's compensation.

Topics include:

  • What concerns are the experts hearing from schools?
  • What are risk factors beyond injury, including litigation potentials?
  • What is OSHA spotlighting, and what will it be spotlighting in the future?
  • What should districts be doing differently? What are they doing right?
  • What guidance do the experts have for you?

This Safety Summit will include discussion about what YOU need to be successful, how we can help, who should hear this message, and other issues regarding Special Education and staff safety.
