Audience: Educators of students with ASD/Neurobiological Disabilities
CEU hours: 6

Sponsored by the MN Low Incidence Projects

This workshop will provide tools to help you identify the types of issues that are leading to challenging behavior so that you can provide appropriate intervention. We will consider both neurotypical (NT) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) populations of students.  First, we will look at key diagnostic (and non-diagnostic) markers of anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and depression.  Then, we will revisit these diagnostic clans and look at how they are impacted by recreational screen dependence (SD) to include gaming and social media dependence.  You will learn how to identify the presence of SD and how it may imitate or confound understanding of the other diagnostic groups.
