Nurtured Heart Beginner Session (New Members Continued Training from 10/26)
Part 2 of the six hour Nurtured Heart Approach training for new members of the DCD CoP. In this session we will be learning about the four types of recognitions and Stand 3: Absolutely Clear!
Four Block Advanced Session (Quick Review, Guided/Shared Reading)
Attendees will quickly review the past trainings the CoP has held related to the Four Blocks Model for Literacy Instruction, a balanced literacy framework that operates under two important assumptions: all students do not learn in the same way and all children can learn to read and write. Then the training will dive into the topic of Guiding and Shared Reading within the Four Block Model. We will discuss theory, practice application and watch classroom videos related to conventional and emergent strategies.
Working with Words (Four Blocks Literacy Framework)
During this presentation all members will receive an in depth training about the Working with Words block of the Four Block Model. We will discuss theory, practice application and watch classroom videos related to conventional and emergent activities such as word wall, making words, alphabet knowledge and phonological awareness.
