Standards Based Learning: Lessons from the Trenches!

This event will highlight the experiences of districts that have made significant progress in moving to standards based learning.  Join us for a very interactive morning with educators from the districts of Fridley, Anoka-Hennepin, Eastern Carver County, and Osseo sharing strategies to overcome challenges and achieve success.  Participants will have the opportunity to engage in small group discussions focused on the topics below. 

Topics include:

· Strategies to help make the mindshift/change philosophy

· Strategies for building buy-in from teacher/students/parents/family/community members

· Aligning Standards

· Report cards

· What does the grade book look like?

· Considerations for Special Ed or EL students

· Homework

· The transition experience from teacher and leader perspectives

Tangible artifacts of the topics will be shared.

$10 processing fee on all invoices.

Cancellation: You can cancel your own registration for an event before the cancellation deadline. (Please check the event information for specific cancellation details.) If the event has a fee, refunds are possible only if cancellation is prior to the deadline. If you do not attend and do not cancel prior to an event, you are still responsible for payment and will be billed.

Special Accommodations: Please alert BrightWorks 2-3 weeks prior to the workshop/event if you need special accommodations, including sign language interpreters. (BrightWorks requires a notice of 2 business days to cancel a sign language interpreter. If you fail to cancel, we reserve the right to bill your school/district for this expense.)
