Making Content Accessible for ELLs in the Math Classroom
May 1, 2018
WEBINAR SERIES OVERVIEW:
As our EL populations continue to evolve, educators are tasked with the challenge of creating rigorous, yet welcoming environments for learners of linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds. These webinars will address ways you can create a welcoming learning environment for ELs and make language and content accessible for learners from different educational backgrounds and proficiency levels.
Participants will:
- Become familiar with a scope and sequence of Math Curricula differentiated for ELLs
- Review math concepts that embed reading, writing, and speaking/listening
Who Should Attend? Content or Grade-Level Teachers, ELL Specialists, Instructional Coaches, Curriculum Specialists, Para-Educators, Teaching Assistants who support English Language Learners in the mainstream.
Presenter:
Jane Moren has teaching licenses in both ESL and mathematics. She has been teaching EL Basic Math to newcomers including SLIFE (Students with Limited or Interrupted Formal Education) for 14 years.
