NUMBER AND ALGEBRA SENSE BOOT CAMP!

WHEN:     Offered twice – Choose the day that works best for you!

1) Thursday, August 16,  8:30 AM – 3:00 PM at  Normandale Community College, Partnership Center, Room 2840, 9700 France Ave S, Bloomington, MN 55431  OR 

2) Tuesday, August 21,  8:30 AM – 3:00 PM at Metro ECSU, 2 Pine Tree Drive, Arden Hills, MN 55112 (Anderson Center, Bethel University)

Prepare for infusing activities and routines that build number sense and algebra sense into your instruction for the coming year. Work with colleagues to create sets of activities for use through the first couple of months of the 2018 – 2019 school year. Explore how the virtual number sense and algebra courses created through the grant can support your work next year.

PRESENTERS: Christy Pettis, Math Instructor, University of MN; Terry Wyberg, Math Instructor, University of MN, Dept of Education

The workshop is funded through Title II B dollars awarded to a collaborative of nine educational agencies.

Who should attend:

  • Teachers in grades K – 12 who are familiar with math talks
  • Grade level teams and PLCs working on improving math talks
  • Instructional Coaches or teacher leaders in grades K - 12
  • Teacher participants from partner districts (Osseo, Eden Prairie, Roseville, NE Metro 916 and Intermediate 287) will be paid a stipend of $150.
  • Teacher participants from non-partner districts are welcome to attend
