  • Postsecondary Programming for Students with ASD, Don McHahon Ph.D., Washington State University |  Event Flyer
    Come learn about postsecondary education (PSE) programs for students with ASD.  Dr. McMahon has worked in a PSE program at the University of Tennessee and he is the Cofounder of the WSU ROAR program which is the first residential PSE program for student with ID/ASD in the State of Washington.  This session will cover the growing inclusive PSE program options available, the benefits of these programs, and suggestions for helping students with ASD be prepared for PSE.

  • Using Technology in the Classroom for Students with Special Needs, Don McMahon Ph.D., Washington State University  | Event Flyer
    Using technology to support students with disabilities presents educators with many incredible resources and capabilities.  It can also present some challenges.  This session will cover many popular technology platforms (iPads, Chrome/Chromebooks, etc) and the wide selection of educational apps available for them. There will be multiple opportunities to share, collaborate, and explore new classroom resources. From the basics of built in accessibility features to cutting edge augmented reality and virtual reality tools, this session will explore ways to use variety technology to address diverse learner needs in K-12 content areas and functional skills.
