Cyber Security & Violent Intruder Prevention

  1. Cyber Breach Simulation Tabletop Session with legal perspective, cyber security perspective, and employee perspective. Presented by Ryan Cloutier, Principal Security Architect, Sourcewell Technology,   2 hours.
  2. Introduction to RIPL Training for Violent Intruder Prevention. RIPL focuses on violent intruder prevention with an emphasis on safety. Presented by National School Safety Consulting. (RIPL= Relational, Impactful, Preventative, Leadership), 1 hour.

Cyber Security Scenario: Your school year has been winding down on a positive note, and planning is well underway for the start of the next school year. After two years of implementing new systems and procedures, staff are feeling comfortable and confident with your school district’s one-to-one and digital curriculum initiatives and operating in a completely digitized format. You are actually looking forward to seeing what progress will take place in the coming year!

Then the phones in the Technology Office begin to ring off the hook! Everyone is having difficulty submitting information into the district’s online systems. What is going on? Has a breach occurred? A ransomware attack? How will you react?

This guided simulation will put you in the driver’s seat of a Cyber Security Incident Response for a school district that has found itself in quite the predicament. Learn how the choices you make can impact the outcomes of the incident and what procedures should be implemented and steps taken to help prevent such a situation from happening at your school.

Violent Intruder Prevention: There are many services available in the area of response to violent intruder and active shooter incidents. The difference you will find with RIPL is the focus on the prevention of these devastating incidents. Join us for this introduction to preventative training that highlights our ever evolving mental health crisis and identifies risks and behavioral precursors to school violence.

As all of you know, safety in schools is a big priority. The RIPL team brings passion and excellence to their training for a safe and thriving school environment. An attendee said the team “spoke to our entire staff today about RIPL. It was the first time anyone has given us concrete ways to not only prevent school violence but to also make school a better place every day”, Meg, August 28, 2018, https://www.nationalschoolsafetyconsulting.org/testimonials
