Meeting Purpose:
The purpose of the Statewide STAR Coaches and Implementers Community of Practice Meeting & Training is to provide guidance, support, and resources on the STAR Program to educators in all regions in Minnesota.  The intent of this CoP is to build capacity of educators in the area of implementing the STAR Program (Strategies for Teaching Students with Autism based on Research) including discrete trial instruction, pivotal response training, and functional routines. 

Agenda will include:

Introduction to STAR Coaches and STAR Implemeters
Consultation from STAR Training Coach
Break-out sessions

Topics will include:

  • How to show student progress using the STAR Program Progressing Monitoring Level I, II, III
  • How to work through implementation barriers
  • Developing IEP goals and objectives based on STAR Lessons
  • Data Collection Practice for DT
  • Beginner Tips/Q & A
  • Advanced Tips/Q & A
  • How STAR leads to LINKS (middle and high school)
