Machine Safety Standards in the Classroom & Workplace
Understanding & Applying Machine Safety Standards in the Classroom and Workplace with IEA
This training will review Machine Safety standards and requirements as applicable to a typical high school or middle school industrial art environment. The training is geared towards industrial arts teachers and building maintenance staff in secondary education. The training will cover safety basics as well as in-depth discussions regarding how to implement the requirements with unique challenges in a school setting.
Mary Ferrian from IEA has over six years of experience conducting safety and environmental audits for industrial, manufacturing, government and educational facilities throughout the United States, Canada and Haiti. Mary currently manages client EHS programs, including Compliance with Federal OSHA, Emergency Management/Response, Minnesota OSHA, EPA, County Hazardous Waste Regulations, Worker’s Compensation, and Pollution Control Agency regulations.
Jens Erickson has worked with IEA for six years as a Health and Safety Consultant for various school districts, colleges, and businesses. He coordinates and conducts a wide range of EHS tasks including Machine Guarding assessments, Industrial Arts safety trainings, mock-OSHA inspections, and Ergonomic workstation evaluations.
