This training is FREE due to a generous subsidy through the MN Low Incidence Project.
The Open Hands Open Access (OHOA) Deaf-Blind Learning Modules are a national resource designed to increase awareness, knowledge, and skills related to intervention for students who are deafblind and are being served in educational settings (ages 3 -21).
Guided coursework using four online modules of the training series:
Welcome & Orientation
Module 2: Sensory Systems
Module 4: Building Relationships
Module 5: Availability for Learning
The training includes:
•Hosted module format with engaging case studies, videos, slideshows, short readings, interactive group discussions and more.
•Hearing from experts, teachers, interveners, individuals with deafblindness, and families.
•Distance coaching, and course CEUs upon completion of ALL modules
•Only 1-2 hours per week are needed to complete the modules (each module takes approximately 3 weeks to complete).
Special Accommodations: Please alert BrightWorks 2-3 weeks prior to the workshop/event if you need special accommodations, including sign language interpreters. (BrightWorks requires a notice of 2 business days to cancel a sign language interpreter. If you fail to cancel, we reserve the right to bill your school/district for this expense.)
