Keynote Speaker
Christopher S. Vara, M.D., is a board-certified pediatric orthopaedic surgeon at Shriners Children's Twin Cities. After graduating from the United States Military Academy and completing five years of service in the United States Army, he completed medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine and an orthopaedic residency at University Hospitals Case Medical Center. He also completed an adult spine surgery fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital and a pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship at Primary Children's Hospital/Shriners Children's Salt Lake City.
Dr. Vara is drawn to Shriners Children's philosophy of caring for the "whole child," including social and emotional needs, as well as orthopaedic conditions. Dr. Vara believes that Shriners Children's Twin Cities truly embodies a team-centered approach to care. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, as well as the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America.
