Braillist Community of Practice (Open Training)

Date:  March 19, 2021
Time:  9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Kayna Plaisted, Metro ECSU Facilitator

Meeting Agenda:
9:00-10:00    Introducing Page and PixBlaster from APH (William Freeman & Jim Sullivan)

In 2020, APH introduced two braille embossers to their continuum of braille literacy solutions. PageBlaster and PixBalster, combined with BrailleBlaster and the APH Tactile Graphic Image Library, provide teachers and parents with a comprehensive solution to produce braille documents. Join William Freeman and Jim Sullivan of APH to learn more about how the two embossers work with BrailleBlaster and the tools from HumanWare and ViewPlus to create literary braille, spatial math problems, and tactile graphics.

10:00-12:00  BANA Early Learning Transcription Guidelines and transcribing early literacy materials (Bonnie Read & Cathy Senft-Graves)

CEU hours: 3
