Description: The demands of school-based speech-language pathologists (SLPs) are unrelenting. Impacted by increased workload, lack of opportunity to collaborate with staff and families, increased compliance/productivity demands and decreased job satisfaction (ASHA Schools Survey, 2020), SLPs carry a heavy load. This session will address collective concerns and evidence-based considerations to maximize SLP bandwidth and impact within a school setting. The course will prioritize service delivery models, treatment interventions and considerations for SLP mental health. Through a lens of evidence-based data and human-centered practices, Phuong will walk you through a high-impact and meaningful session to align with your current days. Here's to reflecting, refueling and re-engaging in our meaningful work.

Target Audience:  School-Based Speech-Language Pathologists

Learning Outcomes:
1. Participants will identify and discuss culturally responsive evidence-based considerations for assessment
2. Participants will discuss culturally responsive intervention considerations (including literacy-based interventions for low-incidence populations)
3. Participants will discuss considerations for Autism and Neurodiversity
4. Participants will identify and describe Advocacy considerations to support SLPs at organizational (e.g., service delivery models) and individual levels (mental health and bandwidth)
