The Open Hands Open Access (OHOA) Deaf-Blind Learning Modules are a national resource designed to increase awareness, knowledge, and skills related to intervention for students who are deafblind and are being served in educational settings (ages 3 -21).
Guided coursework using four online modules of the training series:
Module 3 Role of Intervener Jan. 11, 2022-Feb. 8, 2022
Module 18 Collaborative Teaming Feb. 1, 2022-Mar. 1, 2022
Module 20 Values, Ethics, Professionalism Feb. 22, 2022-Mar. 22, 2022
Module 24 Transition to Adulthood Mar. 15, 2022-Apr. 12, 2022
The training includes:
•Hosted module format with engaging case studies, videos, slideshows, short readings, interactive discussion boards and more.
•Learning from experts, teachers, interveners, individuals with deafblindness, and families.
•Distance coaching, and course CEUs upon completion of all four modules
•Only 1-2 hours per week are needed to complete the modules (each module takes approximately 3 weeks to complete).

A pre-requisite of this cohort is that you are an intervener and have participated in a previous OHOA Cohort.
Special Accommodations: Please alert BrightWorks 2-3 weeks prior to the workshop/event if you need special accommodations, including sign language interpreters. (BrightWorks requires a notice of 2 business days to cancel a sign language interpreter. If you fail to cancel, we reserve the right to bill your school/district for this expense.)
