Anyone who attended the Charting the Cs main conference and would like to participate within a Community of practice to provide active implementation of conference topics.

Charting the Cs Topic of Focus: Mental Health

Meeting Agenda:
12:00 – 2:00 Recognizing Early Warning Signs of Mental Illness in Children and Adolescents (Renee Labat, National Alliance on Mental Illness [NAMI] Minnesota)

  • Learn about mental illnesses in students, the impact on a student’s success in school, and how parents and teachers can work together as allies to support these students. This two-hour class meets the continuing education requirement for teachers.

2:00 – 3:00 Addressing the Mental Health Needs of School-Age Children (Kim Busse, Busse & Reid)

  • In this presentation, we will look at some of the more common mental health diagnoses in children and how school staff can support them in the school setting
