Statewide Physical/Health Disabilities & TBI CoP Meeting 

Topic 1: Traumatic Brain Injury - Differentiating traumatic brain injury from congenital, progressive, and other types of acquired brain injuries. 

Speakers - Dr. Bob Karol, Ph.D., Boarded in Rehabilitation Psychology, Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainer, Karol Neuro + Rehab Consulting and Kelly Bredeken, Statewide TBI School Specialist will discuss congenital, progressive, and acquired brain injuries. How to best consider conditions that are not a trauma induced injury caused by an external force i.e., lead poisoning, prenatal alcohol, and drug exposure, etc...

 

Topic 2: Early Childhood - Help Me Grow, an interagency initiative of the Minnesota State of Department of Education, Department of Health and Department of Human Services that links families to information about the development of young children and to potential early intervention services.

Speaker – Anna Paulson, Regional Coordinator, Help Me Grow

 

Topic 3: Assistive Technology – EquatIO, making math both digital, accessible and engaging for every student.

            Speaker – Marc Callahan, Regional Director - Texthelp
