LETRS For Administrators

Who should enroll? PK-12 Administrators, School District Leaders

Many states including Minnesota are offering LETRS training to teachers. As a leader in your district, it is imperative to understand and lead the charge for an effective pathway to literacy for all students. To prepare you to lead literacy in your schools and district, Metro ECSU is offering LETRS for Administrators.

LETRS for Administrators is a resource and professional development for instructional leaders and administrators to support the impact of evidence-based early literacy instruction.

The program:

  • Provides a course to help you gain insight to the literacy framework used to create a strong instructional plan
  • Helps literacy leaders create efficient methods to analyze student data and establish effective instructional blocks in literacy based on a Multi-tiered System of Support® (MTSS©)
  • Compatible with any quality literacy program and comprehensive assessment plan which incorporates a Response to Intervention (RtI) system to identify and intervene with studentswho struggle
  • Helps district leaders address the needs of teachers who would benefit from deep training on literacy instruction
  • Includes tools and resources to support the navigation of district and school literacy initiatives

With LETRS for Administrators, you will receive:

  • Robust, state-of-the-art online platform for delivery of content
  • Online journal for response and reflection
  • A high-level overview of what teachers are learning in LETRS
  • Discussion suggestions for focused activities in LETRS to bridge the dialogue between the instructional leader and the instructional team
  • Documentation of completion
  • In-person training, coaching, and support sessions led by first-rate literacy experts

Cost is $500.00, which includes the purchase of materials for each participant.

A link to the course will be provided before the course begins. Written Materials for the Course will be mailed to participants.

Metro ECSU holds the right to cancel or postpone the course. The maximum for this course is 40 registrants. 20 or more registrants will be needed for the course to be offered. ECSU will also add a second cohort if demanded.

Cancellations and Refunds: Cancellations requested with more than 5 business days prior to the start date of the class will receive a full refund of the registration fee. 50% of the registration fee will be refunded for cancellations requested within 3 - 5 business days. Refunds will not be issued for no shows or cancellations made within 2 business days of the start of the class. Metro ECSU reserves the right to postpone, reschedule or cancel the class at any time. In the unlikely event a class does not take place, a full refund will be issued or the registration fee may be transferred to another class.

If an interpreter is needed, please contact Angela Skrade, angela.skrade@metroecsu.org no later than one week prior to the event to make arrangements for interpreter services.

Please note: If an invoice is required, an additional processing fee of $10 will be applied.

Cancellation: You can cancel your own registration for an event before the cancellation deadline. (Please check the event information for specific cancellation details.) If the event has a fee, refunds are possible only if cancellation is prior to the deadline. If you do not attend and do not cancel prior to an event, you are still responsible for payment and will be billed.

Special Accommodations: Please alert BrightWorks 2-3 weeks prior to the workshop/event if you need special accommodations, including sign language interpreters. (BrightWorks requires a notice of 2 business days to cancel a sign language interpreter. If you fail to cancel, we reserve the right to bill your school/district for this expense.)
