For K-12 ASL Educational Interpreters

Workshop description:  Working relationships with various school team members are foundational to success. By digging deeper into personalities, communication styles, knowledge sharing, and collaborative work interpreters can look inside of themselves to see what they can bring to the table as an expert in the field of educational interpreting. Working relationships are always evolving, and they require work from all involved to ensure the success of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing students that interpreters work with.

Workshop objectives:

  • Increase repertoire of different strategies to communication with administrators to engage in professional conversations about interpreting work.
  • Examine current trends in the field of Educational Interpreting.
  • Reflect on the work of other professional fields (business and education) to enhance the work of Educational Interpreting when communicating with administrators.

CEU Hours:  0.2  RID CEUs, Sponsored by ASLIS

Sponsored by Regional Low Incidence Projects - Region 11
