To foster an inclusive educational environment, we must identify and acknowledge barriers to belonging. Strengthen your engagement, equity and social emotional skills as you move beyond performance and enhance your ally tool kit.
Prejudice is not always conscious, explicit or readily visible. Often it is systemic and structural. It is important to acknowledge that structural and systemic oppression exists, understand how these types of systems and practices are embedded and entrenched, the damage it causes, and how to identify and address them. In addition, developing a basic understanding of bias - both conscious and unconscious, along with recognizing, managing, and marginalizing biases in order to create a more respectful, safe and inclusive workplace.

Through an interactive, fast-paced process we'll uncover definitions and examples of the following concepts: Selective Attention, Diagnosis Bias, Pattern Recognition, Value Attribution, Confirmation Bias, Priming Effect, Commitment Confirmation, Stereotype Threat, Anchoring Bias and Group Think.
MicroAffirmations help educators and students of all ages and experience levels recognize and deactivate MicroAggressions.
