The Open Hands Open Access (OHOA) Deaf-Blind Learning Modules are a national resource designed to increase awareness, knowledge, and skills related to intervention for students who are deafblind and are being served in educational settings (ages 3 -21).
Guided coursework using four online modules of the training series:
W & O Welcome and Orientation (For information about SkyPrep replacing Moodle)
Module 9: Routines for Participation and Learning
Module 10: Concept Development
Module 11: Intervener Strategies
Module 13: Calendars
The training includes:
•Hosted module format with engaging case studies, videos, slideshows, short readings, interactive discussion boards , and more.
•Learning from experts, teachers, interveners, individuals with deafblindness, and families.
•Distance coaching, and course CEUs upon completion of ALL four modules
•Only 1-2 hours per week are needed to complete the modules (each module takes approximately 3 weeks to complete).
Special Accommodations: Please alert BrightWorks 2-3 weeks prior to the workshop/event if you need special accommodations, including sign language interpreters. (BrightWorks requires a notice of 2 business days to cancel a sign language interpreter. If you fail to cancel, we reserve the right to bill your school/district for this expense.)
