For: Minnesota Educational ASL Interpreter Mentors
Agenda:
Reminders & Check-in:
-
Encourage mentees to take EIPA written test; it should be taken even if people are waiting to retest.
-
Continue encouraging people to test yearly
-
Collect data around how many people are being mentored? 287, 916, 917, Freelance mentors working with other districts
-
Who are the mentors? Other mentors are not part of the group that we can invite.
-
Continue to encourage people to join RID, despite the challenges of the system. Pros: CEU tracking, reduced fee for testing vs. nonmembership, workshops, job announcements, support for the community, and some districts require professional organizational membership
-
Should CoP meetings be 1 or 2-hours?
Resource Sharing:
-
Ask the group about their preference for spring workshop presenter/topics (see workshop ideas section)
-
Mentoring activities
-
Open house for mentees to meet and network with each other
Workshop Ideas:
Fall workshop: Paul Glaser - Advanced Math workshop
