Strategies for Literacy Cohort 2: This is for DHH teachers who are completely new to the SIM Strategies for Literacy class OR who were unable to complete the previously offered training in 2015 and would like to begin again. We invite you to become part of this learning community aimed at improving your students' literacy skills. Strategies are linked to standards and coaching offered includes help with standards-based goal setting. We invite you to be part of this learning community.
Training in the fall includes two SIM strategies?Fundamentals of Sentence Writing and Self-Questioning. Between each instructional session, you will ?try out? parts of each strategy by doing an assignment (e.g., pretests, post tests, progress charts). To support your learning, you will be given virtual coaches. Different than traditional coaches, virtual coaches will focus on strategy implementation; offering responses to your questions and comments, resources, and giving feedback on assignments.

Cancellation: You can cancel your own registration for an event before the cancellation deadline. (Please check the event information for specific cancellation details.) If the event has a fee, refunds are possible only if cancellation is prior to the deadline. If you do not attend and do not cancel prior to an event, you are still responsible for payment and will be billed.
Special Accommodations: Please alert BrightWorks 2-3 weeks prior to the workshop/event if you need special accommodations, including sign language interpreters. (BrightWorks requires a notice of 2 business days to cancel a sign language interpreter. If you fail to cancel, we reserve the right to bill your school/district for this expense.) Update your profile as needed. Special accommodations are not included with each registration, but are stored in your profile until you make changes.
