In the morning, educators will be exposed to a variety of effective iPad apps for supporting and maximizing the literacy development of their diverse learners. The presenter will demonstrate ways to use the iPad to enhance instruction of phonics, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing. Educators will learn how to evaluate an apps effectiveness and purpose as well as functional ways to monitor their students' progress using data from the app.
In the afternoon, Erik will demonstrate how Google provides a variety of apps that schools have used to enhance their education. These web based services certainly assist in student learning, but it also helps educators in documenting their students' progress. Participants will also have opportunity to practice using Google Sites and Google Forms and consider how these two resources can enable better, more organized documentation. A google account, school or personal, is required for this part of the workshop.

Cancellation: You can cancel your own registration for an event before the cancellation deadline. (Please check the event information for specific cancellation details.) If the event has a fee, refunds are possible only if cancellation is prior to the deadline. If you do not attend and do not cancel prior to an event, you are still responsible for payment and will be billed.

(BrightWorks requires a notice of 2 business days to cancel a sign language interpreter. If you fail to cancel, we reserve the right to bill your school/district for this expense.)
