This workshop focuses on the structure and goals of the EIPA assessment. Strategies for preparation, testing and use of the EIPA for skill development will be discussed. A combination of lecture, group discussion, modeling, and open Q&A of the presenter as well as others who have taken the EIPA will be incorporated.
Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
• Clarify the elements of the EIPA performance assessment
• Describe the testing options and process
• Explore strategies for preparation and testing
• Discuss incorporating EIPA elements into regular classroom work
Workshop Activities:
Initial lecture on EIPA structure and testing process
Group sharing of strategies and knowledge related to preparation and testing
Individual practice with texts representative of the EIPA stimulus
Demonstration of key elements of tests including sample interpretations of EIPA qualified interpreting
Q & A forum for remaining questions about the test or preparation strategies
