Bullying is a hot topic in the educational curriculum and requires a consistent and conceptually accurate message. Interpreters need to be aware and knowledgeable to not only the signs for abuse, bullying, and advocacy but what those terms mean and how to accurately convey the message for clearer understanding. This Part II workshop will be focusing on not only the terminology discussed in part one but will now put to use in interactive scenarios and role play how to apply them correctly for clarity and understanding.
1)Participants will review briefly the English terminology in the areas of Abuse, Bullying, and Advocacy.
2)Participants will review for understanding what those terms mean and how they are used in schools and in the legal system.
3)The majority of time the Participants will demonstrate and practice the use of abuse, bullying, and advocacy terminology in ASL by analyzing and doing role play scenarios.
