Link for participation will be emailed to Registrants

Date:  August 16, 2021
Time:  8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Workshop description:  American Sign Language Interpreters' bodies bump up against trauma regularly and yet there is an expectation that interpreters remain neutral, calm and regulated. In this workshop we will explore Trauma, Trauma responses among students, the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) and when the responses of the ANS might kick in with fight, flight, freeze or collapse. This interactive workshop will allow participants to explore their own nervous systems and have a better understanding of what is happening internally when trauma is in the room. Participants are encouraged to bring to this workshop paper of varying sizes, crayons, markers, colored pencils or any drawing medium that evokes joy.
